ALAN: I always figured that some day we'd be outsourced, but I thought it would be a few more years down the road.
MARTIN: I thought NifTech would be bought out by a larger company and we'd wind up being let go with reasonably large severance packages.
PAUL: I figured Dreck would eventually learn we were using Linux instead of Nifty Doorways, issue an ultimatum, and I'd quit.
JOHNNY: I figured Scott would do something that would get hte police involved, which would lead to a chain of events ending with Dreck outsourcing our department to a bunch of second-rate tech wannabes.
(Silence.)
ALAN: That's pretty much what happened.
JOHNNY: Well people should listen to me more.

possibly they can play the "enterprise" game too using solaris?
sun seems pretty good in convincing people to use solaris in the "enterprise", from there they can switch out the boss to opensolaris "for storage" then to linux or bsd and he wont notice because it looks the same on desktop (gnome) and managers dont understand shells so servers will look the same as solaris, working in a place that refurbishes sun hardware has shown me that some people dont mind old machines as long as they chug along, shudder, ultra 10 and 5, anyway the plot could always go through the mono debate which could be an intersting crossover.
