Not The Cloud They Had In Mind

Help Desk, by Christopher B. Wright

Comic Transcript

BARRY: Stupid operating system!

ALEX: You sound like a customer today.

BARRY: I can't help it. My first big project as the lead Ubersoft Programmer, and they want me to design a "Tag Cloud" Operating System!

ALEX: A what?

BARRY: You know, like one of those websites where they collect the most popular terms and phrases found on their site, and they put them all together, and the more popular phrases are given larger font sizes in relation to their popularity.

ALEX: I know what a tag cloud is. But Alice told me our new operating system deals with "The Cloud," not a "Tag Cloud." You just misunderstood.

BARRY: Oh.

ALEX: You don't seem too upset about this.

BARRY: I'm actually kind of relieved. I was getting tired of looking at the word "CRASH" in 172-point Times New Roman Bold.

How about...

How about the possibility of a "Reverse Tag Cloud"?

That way words such as "Excellent", "Efficient", and "Stable" would appear in 172-point Times New Roman Bold and the negative words would be in 1-point...

I am ashamed to confess that

In that last comic when I first read `The Cloud' I too initially thought a tag cloud. Snapped out of it when I've read `thin client'.

Maybe I've been spending too much time on the internet.
Maybe sometime outside without technology would do me good.
Maybe another half-hour of random browsing around will make that thought subside?

On an unrelated note, are you taking your little kid to vote today?

We voted early...

... and took her then.

So?

Who did she vote for?

http://nale.org.uk

Her pacifier. Write-in

Her pacifier. Write-in candidate.

You guys still have write-ins?

In the diebold era? really?

(yes, I know you were joking about your daughter)

NaNoWriMo

completely unrelated but how's NaNoWriMo going for you?
are you manageing to keep up with the 1666.66666666(recuring)average you have to write daily?

The Little Princess chooses...

"Her pacifier. Write-in candidate."

That choice sucks...

By the way...

In the UK we call a "pacifier" a "dummy"...

Good joke potential there! Possibly a Bush joke or two? "No sense in electing a dummy... we already tried that."

Next?

Another term here in the US

for a pacifier is "binky." :D

Binky

Oh lord....Binky - 2012 -- elect a candidate that will "Help" with Everything.... And Drinky could be his running mate.
