I Get No Kick From Champagne

Help Desk, by Christopher B. Wright

Comic Transcript

PHIL: I fail to see why a little flair and panache would put me in the doghouse, old man. People like stylish things.

BOSS: That is the problem in a nutshell.

BOSS: Recently I instructed you to re-activate the printer crash bug in UberWordSoftPro...

PHIL: Which I did.

BOSS: Yes, but you modified it. Now instead of simply locking up the entire computer, forcing the user to shut it down and turn it on again, UberWordSoftPro exits in an orderly fashion while playing Frank Sinatra's 1953 recording of "I Get a Kick Out of You."

PHIL: That's a great song.

BOSS: That is NOT the POINT.

Wrong song, wrong action.

Now if he had programmed it to play "Who Let the Dogs Out?" and the only way to get it to stop was to power-off and thus recover from a hard shutdown that would have made "Boss" happy.
