BOSS: You are telling me that without Viktor my company has ceased to function?
ALICE: We've grown so reliant on filing lawsuits to drive business that we don't know what else to do when we're not filing lawsuits to drive business.
BOSS: Program something! Market it!
ALICE: Without Legal to guide through the wasteland of technology patents we could find ourselves programming something that uses a competitor's patent. If we don't phrase the EULA correctly, we might be held liable for anything the program does wrong.
BOSS: We are a computer company!
ALICE: We're more like a licensing company that does programming on the side.

Those being FSX and Windows Vista, I think Chris's evaluation of M$ (excuse me UberSoft) is right on the money. neither product had anything really new, except a restrictive and demoralizing licence agreement (I didn't see anything regarding first born male children, but then I wasn't looking for it)

Texas Instruments started it, actually. We should blame TI.
Ooo that aught to smart!
