ALICE: Adalai Foule! You're really going to be Viktor's defence lawyer?
ADALAI FOULE: Of course. Viktor and I went through law school together. Iv'e always wanted to go up against him in court, and defending him against himself is the perfect opportunity.
ALICE: You went to law school? I thought you were a dentist.
ADALAI FOULE: I am.
ALICE: A dentist AND a lawyer?
ADALAI FOULE: I know... redundant. Either way you look at it you're pulling teeth.

Truth is stranger than fiction...
My dentist actually is a lawyer, although I am not sure if he practices law at all (he has both his DDS and JD diplomas on the wall of his office)! He also does a lot of forensic dentistry work (identifying people by dental records) for the state.
Where does he get all that free time?
A law degree, a medical degree, and forensic work? When does he sleep? I expect he's also a pharmacist so he can write himself prescriptions for stimulants. :)
I'm sorry Dr. House
Sadly, doctors aren't supposed to prescribe their own medication. I'm sure no pharmacist would question it if it was something simple, but the moment a doctor comes in with a self-written prescription for the hard stuff, that's when you aren't getting any.
You don't have to write it for yourself...
... just someone you trust.
A friend of mine once forgot
A friend of mine once forgot to take their medication on holiday. Their mother is a doctor... new script, anyone?
but
if he's a pharmacist too he can fill the prescriptions he writes out to him self. Then all he'd have to worry about is the government over-site people.
