VIKTOR SCHRECK: As the prosecuting attorney in this case, I'm going to need every advantage I can get. I wonder if it's possible to convince myself to represent myself in court.
ALICE: That doesn't sound like a good idea.
VIKTOR SCHRECK: It's a terrible idea. Only a fool represents himself in court. But that would make it much easier for me to do my job.
ALICE: As a prosecutor, but it would make your life harder as a defendant.
VIKTOR SCHRECK: Yes, you're right. I'd never go for it.
ADALAI FOULE: Indeed you wouldn't.
VIKTOR SCHRECK: Adalai! What are you doing here?
ADALAI FOULE: I came as soon as I got your message. I've agreed to represent you as your defence attorney.
VIKTOR SCHRECK: I hired you as my defence attorney?
ADALAI FOULE: I'm afraid so.
VIKTOR SCHRECK: I'm far more cunning than I originally imagined.
ADALAI FOULE: You told me you'd say that.

Are you sure Victor wasn't abused as a child?
Umm, I mean ol' vic is showing classic signs of disassociative multiple personalities, where the core personality is unaware of the actions of the other personalities, which is usually the result of childhood trauma caused by physical or sexual abuse. We have a couple people in my church with the problem.
I think he's just really
I think he's just really into his job and is having a hard time coping with having to be one person playing two opposing parts. With every new installation of this story line, I have the chance to fall out of my chair laughing!!!
