Help Desk, by Christopher B. Wright

TV PERSONALITY: We return to our interview with Viktor Schreck, Chief Counsel for Ubersoft, who is explaining the rationale behind Ubersoft's new "Bugs are Cool" marketing campaign.

TV PERSONALITY: Mr. Schreck, critics of this campaign suggest that bugs are NOT cool, and that Ubersoft is merely trying to find a way to get out of fixing the volumes upon volumes of bugs found in its own operating system and software products.

VIKTOR SCHRECK: Absolutely untrue.

VIKTOR SCHRECK: We have very, very few known bugs in our software. From time to time, a product feature might interact with another product feature in a way that might be considered undesirable, depending on the situation, but that's hardly the same thing at all.

TV PERSONALITY: It isn't?

VIKTOR SCHRECK: Not at all! Our customers are smart and creative people. Sometimes they try to combine two features int eh same product in a way we don't anticipate, and that can cause interesting effects.

TV PERSONALITY: Are you suggesting that your customers who combine the print button feature with the actual printing feature are using your software in a new and innovative way that you didn't expect?

VIKTOR SCHRECK: Oh, look, we're out of time.
