ALEX: Are there any other questions, sir?
CUSTOMER: Yes, is there any way i can get around this CD protection so that I can get it to work on my machine?
ALEX: only by using software that violates the End User License Agreement and the DMCA by "cracking" the protection algorithm.
CUSTOMER: You mean, in order for me to use this software that I purchased legally, I have to break the law?
ALEX: Actually, we recommend replacing your CD-ROM drive.
CUSTOMER: Oh you do, do you? Can you guarantee that buying a new CD-ROM drive will actually solve the problem?
(Silence.)
ALEX: Well... No. Not as such.
CUSTOMER: Criminal activity it is, then.
