ALEX: Phil?
PHIL: Well, today I'm the metaphysical equivalent of your future self.
ALEX: What?
PHIL: Yeah. I'm working for a colleague of the Boss, sort of as a penance for e-mailing Fooker our source code. Most of the time I create programs that model a subject's future, and they send in "ghosts" based on that program in order to give people like you a message.
ALEX: Most of the time?
PHIL: You wouldn't compile. Consider me a "conceptual recreation for demonstration purposes."
