CUSTOMER: For some reason, the latest version of UberWordSoftPro keeps telling me that I need to "renew my subscription," and asks me for my credit card number. I just bought this thing last week.
ALEX: UberWordSoftPro and UberProOffice have moved to a "subscription licensing model" instead of a standard one-time purchase licensing model.
ALEX: Ever mindful of our customer's needs, our marketing division has decided that you, the customer, should not be forced to pay for software if you're not using it. So we now charge you a modest fee every month, rather than making you pay for the entire thing up front.
CUSTOMER: But I DID pay for the entire thing up front.
ALEX: Well, we're still working out a few details.
