CUSTOMER: I'd like to register my software, but I'm concerned that doing so will make it easier for you to track what I'm doing at all times.

ALEX: You don't need to worry. We only use that information for legitimate, above-the-board activities.

ALEX: In order to combat piracy, Ubersoft uses your registration information to identify who is using our products lawfully and who is not. We don't use it for any other reason.

CUSTOMER: Is that REALLY all you use it for?

ALEX: Well, we do like to track all your spending habits, develop a marketing model focused specifically on you, and inundate you with junk mail, but that's such a small thing.
